It seems, from talking to my parents and relatives, that my ancestry is mainly Panjabi (on my mother’s side) and Patthan/Pakhtun (on my father’s side).
I do not believe that there are any pure races - that is, ultimately I am a mixture of many races and cultures, not simply half-Panjabi and half-Patthan. Certainly the Panjabis and Patthans evolved from something beforehand - after all, they are not Dravidian, who were the original natives of the areas before the invading waves of Indo-Europeans (or so I believe).
So, what other former/current races are Panjabis and Patthans made of? Any Turkish or Mong’gol blood? Persian/Indo-European? (If I remember correctly, the Mughals, of Mong’gol ancestry, invaded and conquered the Subcontinent from the northwest, from Afghanistan, etc. But then, what exactly were the Mughals? Mong’gol? Persian? Turkish? And their troops?)
