I expect I could learn that riff and I’ve never played a brass instrument in my life.
1-0 Sweden too. Good news for England.

Nice bit of drama there.
Ukraine scored! But the ref didn’t think so. Now England has to win 2-0 at least!
Ukraine very unlucky there. That ball looked to be over the line before Terry cleared. Those officials behind the goal have been useless this tournament - never signal anything as far as I can see.
They have an extra ref whose only job is to get those goal line calls correct and he was right there and he blew it. The refs are going to need an armed escort out of the stadium tonight.
I don’t think they’re supposed to visibly signal. They do communicate with the ref by wireless, and do have other duties.
From my point of view it would be nice if Sweden scored another two or three against France, and then Ukraine equalised with the last kick of this match to put France out
If only there was some technology to see if the ball is over the goal line.
They need replay. That was just too fast and too close to expect the ref to get it in the moment. The bigger goat of a ref is the assistant on the sideline who keeps blowing offside calls.
It’s inexcusable that in 2012 soccer doesn’t have goal line replay in these major tournaments. Just stubborn stupidity.
Wouldn’t work; France would still go through because they beat Ukraine in their group game. The only way France can go out is if both France and England lose, and France loses the tiebreaker with England.
Oh yes. Stupid tie-breaker rules, what’s wrong with straight goal difference?
They don’t need replay - $100 worth of goal line technology and a chip in the ball would solve it. Replay could help in other situations, though, I agree.
Come on now Ukraine, play nice.
Sweden 2-0. Quick England, let two goals in!
England wins 1-0.
FIFA have tested the “chip in the ball” technology and found it isn’t accurate enough. They might adopt a system similar to Hawk-Eye, though, which strikes me as being far better than trusting a chip to be accurate to a few mm in an area the size of a goalmouth. I’m not sure that any wireless positional technology exists that is accurate enough.
Well England wins the group. Shame it was with an unspectacular and undeserved win, but at least the group positions would be the same even with a draw.
England avoid Spain, which is just as well. Hey, with luck we might be able to lose to the Germans in the semi-final on penalties again.
Wouldn’t be a shameful exit, at least.
It was offside! The win was deserved after all!
Only one tie-breaker needed, and it was resolved with a head-to-head result, which is the best way for ties to be broken.
