Are there any markets around Greater LA that sell European ethnic/regional products? (ie British, French, German, Russian, etc.)/
I know of a British products place and a couple Russian markets within an easy walk from me, and I know of a German butcher/market a not very long drive from me (I’m in the San Fernando Valley area of L.A.). And I know those are hardly the only ones. So, yes. There are tons.
Yes, there are lots of them. They tend to be clustered in emigre neighborhoods though, so there’s more variety with nationalities that have a large immigrant population. For example, in my neighborhood (Westwood) there are lots of little Persian markets, and if I walk under the 405 into Sawtelle I can find lots of little Japanese markets.
There’s a British market in Santa Monica. I don’t know about French and German, but I’m sure there’s some somewhere. There’s a large Russian neighborhood in West Hollywood, so that’s well-covered.
Yup, very true. There’s a fair sized Russian population in my neighborhood, which is why I have a few Russian markets near me. There are also a few Russian restaurants and Russian clothing stores.
There are actually two British markets in downtown Santa Monica right across the street from each other. There are also several Italian markets that I know of, including one in Culver City and one in the Farmer’s Market at the Grove.
