Eve On-Line banking

10%-20% about depending on how stiff competition is. sometimes I get lucky with 50% profits but that’s rare.

Basic T2 mods are a hit, things that EVERYONE uses, Damage Controls, Cap Rechargers, Cap Power Relays, Power Diagnostics, Nanofibers, Overdrive Injectors, Expanded Cargoholds, Armor Repairers, Afterburners, Microwarpdrives. They are all good, some are more competitive than others.

Hm, hit me up in a few weeks, I just bought the skill for Cap ship and I’m tanked out but Ill kick in 500 mil. Ill mine ice and haul it this coming week.

What do you want to try and corner?

Well the original plan was to mess with the tritanium market, but it would require a lot more than 500m. It’d take about ten people participating and billions of isk.

Just occurred to me as well, but in addition to the 200 bil theft from EBANK, Dynasty Bank recently had one of its members scam something like 85 bil. One thing in EVE is totally clear: if something can be scammed/stolen/looted/misrepresented for personal gain/etc… it probably will be, sooner or later.

Myself, these days I’d only ever begin to consider investing in any bank if its rate of return was somewhere between 10 and 20%, and probably not even then. At the standard rate of return, it simply does not make any sense, at all. Even standard trading (ie. regional order flipping) can yield you a good few hundred mil in pure profit per week. If you’ve got the time/knowledge/cash to engage in true market manipulation, you can rake in billions. Giving your ISK to someone else is just loopy.

BTW, as Prisen suggested in the articles I linked to, someone just starting can very quickly expand their fortune by trading in high volume, high margin items that are often overlooked. Spent a little while in the market browser checking out various items. Many shield/ECM modules, for instance, can give you a return measuerd in hundreds, if not thosuands of percentage points. Starting with only a few hundred thousand ISK can, pretty quickly, see you taking home millions.

Yes. I am getting more than 100% profit on Medium shield booster II right now. I’m getting close to 1b again. As soon as I get back from vacation I’ll surpass 1b again, but this time my goal is to get to 2b so that I always have a 1b principle. With a 1b principle I am guaranteed to always be able to rebuild billions in a very short period of time. I’ve invested for other people but it always becomes a pain in the ass. I think if I ever invest again my goal will be 10% profit over the course of a month. That makes it worth my while and worth the while of the investor. The true appeal of lo-interest investments is that it is a sure thing and is putting your money to work without your having to pay close attention, but at the same time investing in slow moving items can do that too. Make yourself your very own lo-sec skillbook hub at 10% profit and over the course of a month you’ll make your money back.

I’m looking forward to when I can get a Maurauder and make the L4 harvesting game a simple endeavor. Run an L4 or 2 an hour and you’re going to make some serious isk with relatively little risk.

Some of my friends are getting into the easy isk game, my old CEO is working on 25b by midsummer. When I get into that tax bracket and have some friends who are in that mindset, then I might seriously consider some of my more whacked out George Soros type schemes. I want to rock the ENTIRE market in New Eden, not just a single market with a single item.

I really do need to look at inter-regional trading once I skill up for a Charon. MSB II’s have approx a 20% margin in the region I’ve been haunting at present.

Should be easy enough. I’ve got about 1.5 billion in sell orders and about 4 bil in buy orders open at present. My gross margin for all items trades is currently at 32.03%. 10% is easy.

I still think I’m going to try 0.0 market-PvP next, though. One AAA pilot in Querious during the war bought up all of certain items on the market (e.g. internal forcefield I’s, quad lif MWD’s) and relisted only one at a time at a billion or two. Idiots spent about 11 bil on those modules during the last phase of the war. To say nothing of the damage you could do with simple trade flipping in a cloaked cov ops somewhere in a region.

Meh. Not much a Marauder can do that an Ishtar can’t, for much less cash and much less risk if you get disconnected. Also, Marauders attract gankers. The Paladin is sweet, though. Also, missions are horribly boring, and not really that rewarding. A decent plex in 0.0 will net you, easily, 2-3 times the profit of a lvl 4 mission, probably in a third the time. Really good plexes will earn you up to a billion for a few hours work, if not more.

For those curious, by the way, plexing is really simple, and really profitable (over time). Every now and again you might get crap loot from an 8/10, but most of the time you’ll pulling down 250-750 mil per 45 minutes with a buddy (or an alt).

Pretty much, all you need is a probe launcher on a ship. Rigged cov ops will make it much easier, but you can do it in any ship. Set up a filter only for signatures. Use a deep space scanner probe on max range to see everything in the system. You’re only looking for “Unknown” sites. Click on them and, if you’re in the system viewing tab of the ship scanner, it should show you their rough location.

Drop four (five is easier and gives a margin for error but you only need 4) sisters core scanner probes and keeping them on one of the larger radii, drag 'em over to the general area of the hit and when you’re able to get it down to a ring or a dot, reduce the radius by one step, re-move and re-scan, and then rinse and repeat until you get a warpable green dot at 100%.

At that point, you should be able to do anything up to an 8/10 with a tank (Abaddon is about perfect), a repper (Guardian is about perfect) and DPS (Apoc works just about perfect, Ravens are for punks). With an alt and a buddy with an alt, that means you can run an 8/10 in about 45-60 minutes earning about 75-4 or 500 mil ISK per person.

Every 0.0 region has its own plexes. I don’t think that the Drone Regions have non-drone plexes though. All the ones in pirate space give faction and deadspace loot.

Oh, and, for those who are curious, my followup interview with Hexxx after the Ricdic heist should be published around next Monday (or Tuesday, if I’m lazy).

By the way, I just spotted a pretty awesome scam that I’d like to share with folks in case they’re able to make some ISK from it. Unfortunately I deleted the original EVE Mail by accident, so I’ll summarize it, but I still have the chatlogs with the scammer. Oh and, since I knew it was almost definitely a scam I decided to convo the scammer as I was curious.

Anyways, my trade alt got an EVEMail from someone saying that they had a Navy Mega for 300 mil (moving to Jita, must sell, blah blah). Of course having played EVE for years now I figured it was almost definitely a scam. I assume i was targeted due to having billions of assets/buy orders on the market, so they figured that they could get ISK out of me. Anyways, here is the chat log:

As the logs show, at first I was fooled because the name of the item in the trade window really was “Megathron Navy Issue”. But because I’m not a noob I performed some due diligence and checked the description. It seems like a really easy way to make ISK if you can find someone who’s clueless. Just name a Raven “Navy Raven” or whatever, and then offer to trade it to them since you contracts are full.

If I’d bit the guy would’ve made something like 200 mil ISK in a single go. Now that beats the hell out of normal trading.

Yeah, I confess I actually fell for that one with the Navy Issue Vexor once.

An interview with EBANK’s Hexxx

So, I understand that you can actually pay your monthly fee in ISK in game. How much does that run to?

One of the reasons I’m interested in this game is the idea that after paying for it for a few months (or whatever), I can transition to not actually having to spend IRL cash for the game.

Currently it’s about about 400 mil per month.

To put that in perspective, that would be roughly one or two level 4 missions per day.

Nah, you could do it with about 15 level 4 missions. So more like one every two days as the average payout for an L4 is 20-30m.

Oh and Plex are around 330m in Sinq Laison right now.

Well, I’m good to go. Just bought 14 months of game time between my three accounts. Might end up costing me a bit in the final analysis, but a month or so ago they were at 800 mil each and I got these for 600 mil each, and now I don’t need to look at my main account for another half a year and my other two for another 1/3 of a year. Nifty.
