Ever click the suggested link in a search

Just because it corrected your spelling?

Honestly, almost always. I figure it’ll get me more hits even though Google is usually basing the results on the corrected spelling anyways.

OTOH, sometimes I click on the link that says ‘you spelled it wrong, do you want to search based on the wrong spelling, moron’. To which I say ‘umm, yeah, that’s why I spelled it that way’ click.

I second what Joey P said.
All in favor?

Aye.

Also, as ashamed as I am to admit it, I mostly don’t even bother spelling things correctly when searching Google anymore. I just spew out some random letters into the search field, and Google still always seems to know what I was thinking of.

I mostly try to spell things correctly, but I don’t bother correcting typos in my searches.

I find it funny when someone is watching over my shoulder. “That’s not how you spell any of those words”, “yeah, google will figure it out”.

This is me, although I feel no shame about it. (I am a good speller, but have lazy clunky fingers.)

OTOH, occasionally I do spell carefully into the Google box knowing in advance that I will have to override the suggested respelling.

I guess that I’m ashamed because I know that it just contributes to my general laziness. And I find myself wanting similar shortcuts in other places. Like on this board:

[Garbled mess.]

Did you mean: [Cogent, eloquent argument]?

Yeah, that would be so sweet to have sometimes.
