He opened for Ian Hunter the other night. He’s been around for 20+ years but he had a terrible stage presense.
Slightly odd… he rambled a bit about the satellite landing on the comet and said he didn’t have a song for that so he’d just have to do this song. Ten minutes later he did a song about Yuri Gageron.
Really odd… he announced that he’d do a couple more songs; did one and then started to walk off stage. When he didn’t get the end of set applause increase he was expecting he did a double-take stutter-step then waved and kept going.
Just wondering about his Reputation …Bad (get it?) or otherwise.
I also saw him 20 years ago and he had a fine stage presence. He even joked around with the one moron who screamed “Play Bad Reputation!” after every song.
Awesome!! Except for the layout of the Park West (Chicago) which I had never been to before. All spread out with tables and booths. The show was far from sold-out which amplified the problem.
I saw him last night and, you know, his stage presence WAS a little odd. I mean, the music was great, and afterward I got the opportunity to ask him a couple of questions about his music that I’ve been dying to get answers to, which was totally cool. But he didn’t exactly wow me with the slickest between-song patter in the world.
