Every day, in every way, we get closer & closer to Jurassic Park.

Intact DNA strands found in fossils.

It would appear, at least with dino dna, we’re progressing beyond Amber alerts for the missing.

<waits for chorus of drooling semi-literate creationists to trumpet “see? they can’t possibly be millions of years old”>

I wonder what’s happening with that T Rex fossil they found that had the “chewy” center. I want T Rex’s in my local zoo, dammit!

Funny, I thought you were gonna mention how there’s a move afoot to clone the Tasmanian Tiger

Cheetahs have some real problems in terms of genetic diversity - there only a few tens of thousands left in the world, and they all come from essentially the same genetic line, IIRC. Some kind of cloning or DNA tinkering might do them a world of good, down the road.

Beautiful animals - and the fastest runners in the world. Be a shame to lose them.

You know, Will’s right–this kind of genetic tinkering could end up being a boon for biodiversity, if it’s regulated and used well…!

(Just nobody start putting anything on any remote islands, okay? ;))

They can have the Cheetahraptor DNA when they pry it from my mutilated, bloody fingers.

Which convienently won’t be attached to your hand any longer.
