Every song on the album is great?

Hum - You’d Prefer An Astronaut, Downward Is Heavenward (That’s two albums)
Tool - AEnima
Sublime - 40oz. To Freedom
Each and Every Pavement album, but only if you like their style.

FWIW, I have to agree with the following choices:

If I Should Fall From Grace With God - The Pogues
Deja vu- CSNY (‘Almost Cut My Hair’ stands out in my mind)
Aja
“New York” by Lou Reed (Brilliant)
Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf (A rock classic)

and add a few more (for now:D)

‘London Calling’, by The Clash, voted about ten years ago as the best album of the last 25 years by Rolling Stone magazine.

‘Layla (And Other Assorted Love Songs)’ by Derek and the Dominoes.

[ul][li]Bitter by Meshell Ndegeocello[/li][li]Bachelor #2 by Aimee Mann[/li][li]The Velvet Underground by the Velvet Underground[/li][li]The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by Lauryn Hill[/li][li]Something to Remember by Madonna[/li][li]Lay It Down by the Cowboy Junkies[/li][li]Past Masters Vol.2 by the Beatles[/li][/ul]

I have obscure and random musical tastes, but these CD’s are perfect from start to end.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Grace by Jeff Buckley
Exile in Guyville by Liz Phair

Don Henleys “Building the Perfect Beast”
Van Halens “Diver Down”,“5150”
Led Zeppelin “Runes” or “zoso”…whatever
Sammy Hagar’s “Three Lock Box”
38 Special “Special Forces”
Def Leppard “Pyromania” AND “Hysteria”

As you can see…I’ve dated myself…Gee…think I grew up in the '80s?

Umm… Tapestry by Carol King.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm…I guess everyone here is from the US or UK, or at least they mostly listen to English-speaking music…the cds i could listen to all day without getting tired of them (in fact, ive done that) in no order:

Brand New Day-Sting
Rubber Soul-The Beatles, I like every song of the album…
Rabo de Nube-Silvio Rodríguez
Balada de otro tiempo- Roy Brown

My faves for never triggering the fast-forward-button-pushing reflex: (in no particular order)
[li]Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughan[/li]
[li]Texas Sugar - Strat Magic by The Chris Duarte Group[/li]
Tones by Eric Johnson
[li]Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche[/li][li]Mer de Noms by A Perfect Circle[/li][li]Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden[/li][li]Vulgar Display of Power by Pantera[/li][li]Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins[/li][li]The Wall by Pink Floyd[/li][li]Lights…Camera…Revolution by Suicidal Tendencies[/li][li]Slow, Deep and Hard by Type O Negative[/li][/ul]

Not a wasted note on any of them.

Marquee Moon by Television

Moondance - Van Morrison
Astral Weeks - Van Morrison

Green Days Dookie and Warning Cd absolutely kick ass in my mind. Any Blink 182 album rocks. Rancid’s Out Come The Wolves. Most of the Ramones CD’s are all good. Of course these happen to be my opinion so let me get flamed :stuck_out_tongue:

Pink Floyd–Wish You Were Here. There’s not one track I’d ever consider skipping. Both parts of “Crazy Diamond” are pure genius, Have a Cigar and Welcome to the Machine are Floyd cynicism at its best, and the title track is one of my favorites.

Oddly, I also like Yes–The Ladder. Every track is at least catchy, IMHO.

Operation Ivy’s S/T
At The Frive In’s Relationship of Command
Botch’s We Are The Romans
Dillinger Escape Plan’s Calculating Infinity
The Clash’s S/T
Coalesce’s Functioning on Impatience
AFI’s Black Sails In The Sunset
Fugazi’s End Hits
Refused’s The Shape of Punk To Come
Nirvana’s Unplugged
Tool’s Opiate

:::sigh:::

I feel so OLD!!!

You’re only as old as your taste in music :stuck_out_tongue:

I listen to bands that were out before I was born, and my 50 year old father listens to deathmetal.

If you’re having trouble relating to some of the bands and albums being listed, give some of them a shot. While I’ll be the first to agree that “they don’t make music like that anymore”, what they do make is still damn good.

Who’s Next

Allman Brothers Band Live at Fillmore East
Live at Ludlow Garage – Allman Brothers*

*I used to listen to this all the time in college. That may not seem like much to say, but the album wasn’t released until after I’d been out of college 15 years (my roommate worked at Ludlow Garage and had the tape).

Chuck - you beat me to it by ten minutes: Let it Bleed by the Stones
[sub](although you forgot Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks)[/sub]

PLAY, by Moby --great ambient music that I play repeatedly
