I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that it’s J.D. Crowe and the New South. How I misspelled that TWICE, I’ll never know, given the number of times I’ve listened to the album.
John Barleycorn Must Die is a classic, and every song is good. Dunno why I forgot it, I did steal my name from it after all.
There was an implicit wink in my last comment.
I’ll add:
Elvis Costello, King of America
Tom Waits, Rain Dogs
Cracker, The Golden Age
Tanya Donelly, Lovesongs for Underdogs
Sinead O’Connor, The Lion and the Cobra
Aimee Mann, I’m With Stupid
Eagles, Hotel California
and add my votes for:
The Clash, London Calling
The Pogues, If I Should Fall From Grace With God
R.E.M., Murmur
Liz Phair, Exile in Guyville
I’ve got a few:
[ul]
[li] Spirit Trail by Bruce Hornsby. 2-cd set and they are all excellent.[/li][li] Down Here by Tracy Bonham. Excellent female rocker who can write![/li][li] 3 Doors Down - the one that’s out now. Can’t remember title, but it’s great[/li][li] American Pie by Don McLean. Most people know the first song but the rest of the album is much better.[/li][li] The last three albums by Diana Krall. Love her voice and her interpretations of jazz standards.[/li][/ul]
Pontiac by Lyle Lovett
Arthur by the Kinks
and many others that many people have already posted.
HAHAHAHA!! Everybody knows the Sex Pistols only released one album under several different names with the track order scrambled!
I want to add these:
How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can’t Even Smile Today by Suicidal Tendencies
Persistence of Time and Among The Living by Anthrax
Countdown to Extinction by Megadeth
I definitely agree with Texas Flood, and have to add Couldn’t Stand The Weather.
Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
Foo Fighters - There Is Nothing Left To Lose
Moby - Play
My list (which is weird):
Pretty Hate Machine, NIN
Bat Out of Hell and Back Into Hell, Meat Loaf
Greatest Hits, Fleetwood Mac
Old Yellow Eyes Is Back, Brent Spiner
Brent Spiner? Data from Star Trek…SINGS???
STOP MAKING SENSE -The Talking Heads
I also think BAT OUT OF HELL by Meat Loaf and ABBEY ROAD by the Beatles are albums without a misstep or filler track in them.
A guilty pleasure is the live CAUGHT IN THE ACT by Styx.
But my absolute favorite of my lifetime has **got** to be WISH YOU WERE by Pink Floyd. Play it straight through and I go out of body!

also:
Garbage - Garbage
Aimee Mann - Whatever, I’m with Stupid, and Bachelor No. 2
Radiohead - Pablo Honey, The Bends, and OK Computer
Beastie Boys - Paul’s Boutique

Honestly, I could sit here all day doing this, but I think this is a good start.
XTC, Nonsuch
XTC, Oranges & Lemons
XTC, English Settlement
XTC, Skylarking
XTC, Upsy Daisy Assortment
REM, Murmur
REM, Document
REM, Green
The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper
The Beatles, Rubber Soul
The Beatles, White Album
The Beatles, Abbey Road
U2, The Joshua Tree
It’s almost impossible to go wrong if the album is by XTC, REM, or the Beatles, which are the three greatest bands of all time.
Absolutely! He is a most impressive tenor. He sings a lot of the old standards, such as “Embraceable You,” “Carolina In The Morning,” and “Good Night, Sweetheart.” One track, “It’s a Sin to Tell a Lie” has Mr. Spiner backed up by “The Sunspots” - Patrick Stewart, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes and LeVar Burton. Dorn has a bass that won’t quit.
If you like some of the classics like the ones above, I highly recommend this album.
