evidence for god? some one said so.

I meant to say that in context that obviously wasn’t what he meant when he said that. Thanks for the correction.

Yeah, but if you had, that would be super creative… and you know where that leads.

Actually people have known the world was round for thousands of years.

Rational thinkers have realized that ships masts come into view first, and that the angle of shadows on the same day differed at different parts of the world, and that lunar eclipses show a round Earth casting a shadow on the moon.

Intelligence and rationality gave us the knowledge that the world was round. The ignorant, stinking men who wrote the bible thought the world was under a dome and that it flooded in historical memory. They didn’t know what the fuck they were talking about, and yet, you trust their primitive religious beliefs? Weird.

Since the snake made Eve eat the apple, isn’t the devil responsible for creativity?

Why do you support the work of the Devil, Andiethewestie?

Geez Pre-Socratic thinkers thought the world was flat. Why do Athiests have to get so nasty?

Do you have any intention of addressing the topic of this thread?

Rationality isn’t something that is embraced from birth naturally. It’s a cultural development. Like writing or ninjas.

It’s not nasty to call the writers of the bible ignorant and stinking. It’s accurate. They thought pi was 3 and lived in a desert with no air conditioning.

It’s Theisttown Jake. You’ll find no evidence here.

We’re not nasty. You’re just a sissy.

Asked and answered.

Your answer did not pass the requirements put forth in the OP. Why don’t you read the OP and try again?

n/m

So you think Pythagoras always wore his right guard? Like seriously… the fathers of rationale thought were the models of cleanliness while religious thinkers were dirty animals?

Pssst… Andiethewestie… If you simply say, “I believe what I believe and I find my belief system internally consistent”, all the atheists will just run away. It’s like kryptonite to us. Try it.

It’s actually sort of a hoot to see the “rational thinkers” say that Hitchens “didn’t say that” or that biblical writers were ignorant and stinking as opposed to the sweet smell of rationalism.

Got anything to contribute that pertains to the OP?

This is just belief,not fact!

We had a conclave of the rationalist thinkers and voted that Christopher Hitchens wasn’t suited to be ordained as our atheist high priest.

Different ward Monavis…

In jest or not, this doesn’t belong in Great Debates.
