I’ve had a skin problem for decades. It was diagnosed as non-curable Icthyosis
Vulgaris, but I suspect that the basic reason is overgrowth of Candida.
Anyway, one of the best cures against Candida is fermented milk with lactic acid
bacteria. Well, fermented milk is something I cannot swallow. It makes me
vomit. You know “It tastes so bad, it must be good for you”. But it is still impossible for me to drink.
Can it be that Candida has covered my taste receptors as a defense mechanism and mutated my sense of taste? Does healthy food taste good or bad?
I’d say that my fat belly is pretty definitive evidence that taste is not indicative of nutritious value.
You can’t find ANY yogurt that is palatable?

Honestly I have no idea, but somehow I doubt it. Hopefully somebody less birdbrained will chime in soon.
My point here is that I prefer sweet instead of sour. Candida prefers carbohydrates.
No.
For starters taste is only about 5% related to your taste receptors. the remaining 95% is related to smell and texture. Even if an organism could somehow incapacitate the taste receptors, it would only work to obscure differences between sour and sweet, for example. And it would obscure that for all foods, which is something you would notice very rapidly.
Secondly microbes can’t actually cover your taste receptors because they are swept clean regularly by the movement of the tongue. This is the reason why you only get that gunk on your tongue after you have just woken.
Neither, because “healthy food” s a meaningless term. For 99% of our history our ancestors were faced with regular food shortages and chronic salt shortages. As such good health required getting as many calories and as much salt as possible when it was available, and to only eat the ubiquitous, low value plant foods as a last resort to avoid starvation. So to stay healthy they they evolved to find the taste of high calorie food, such as sugar, fat and meat, highly appealing, and to absolutely crave salt. That was healthy food for the vast majority of humans who have ever lived.
With the advent of agriculture we developed the ability to cater to those cravings and produce an excess of them. And an excess of anything is bad. So today healthy foods for most people are precisely what we don’t find appealing.
So, in simple terms, what is healthy varies between individuals in different times and places. As a result whether healthy food tastes good or bad also varies between individuals.
I agree - at least the most of this. I still wonder, why fermented milk makes me vomit. Everybody I know loves the taste of it.

Other people say the same regarding sushi, or soft boiled eggs or chocolate ice cream. People have different tastes. There doesn’t have to be a reason for it beyond personal taste.
Why?
The receptor cells for taste in humans are found on the surface of the tongue. If your tongue is all covered with this white shit, it can make the difference.
There’s all kinds of fruit flavored yogurts, and other sweet yogurts. They aren’t all sour. Just make sure you pick one with live cultures.

Note that there is no connection there to Candida and no mention of the tongue. It is a simple genetic disorder.
