Ex-West EMT moved to undisclosed location

This may not be pit-worthy, it probably is not, but everyone hates my guts here and no doubt any responses would belong in the Pit.

The link gives some background - but the latest is that this former EMT in West, Texas - a first responder to the fertilizer plant fire/explosion - has been taken from the county jail by federal authorities to an undisclosed location

Maybe the explosion was not an accident - though there is no EVIDENCE to link Mr Reed to the April 17th explosion - at least that has been repeated up until now by local authorities

Some things just don’t add up – originally investigated by the McLennan County Sherriff’s office for “having the makings of a pipe-bomb”;

Reed (who adamantly maintains innocence) was apparently whisked out of county jail by the Feds and now the charge has been changed to “illegal possession of a firearm”.

??!!??

Yet Reed was a first-responder to the fire at the fertilizer plant - which was an industrial accident - or was it?

Mods - feel free to move to more appropriate forum, no intention to anger pizzaguy further with boring Pit threads

link maybe not working, I dunno

From the info available it appears that his arrest and the fertilizer plant explosion are unrelated. The fact that he was a first responder to the fire is likely just a coincidence. I don’t currently see any reason to jump to any conclusions based on the information we’ve been provided.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I have no feelings at all one way or the other about the contents of your abdomen. It’s your posts that I think are shit.

It looks a little more potentially sinister than that. A second story from the linked page says that there is “no evidence linking his arrest” to the fire and explosion, but then says “Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives special agent Douglas Kunze says in the complaint that the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office was called earlier this week to a home near West where they found a pipe, a variety of chemicals and fuses. They say the objects belonged to Reed, who didn’t enter a plea when he appeared in court Friday.”

I save my hatred for when it’s worth the time and effort.

Whether it’s potentially more sinister, I can’t tell.

But getting whisked away from county jail to an undisclosed location by the Feds is to me
something that would not be done for no reason, so I don’t know.

An undisclosed location just means they didn’t tell the press where he was. They might be questioning him at a Denny’s right now. This means nothing.

 I would really like to think that they ARE interrogating him at a Denny’s.

“Alright alright I’ll talk! I’ll tell you whatever you want to know, just don’t make me eat here!”

I wish the feds were questioning me at Denny’s right now. I could order a Grand Slam Breakfast. :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t hate you per se, hate the stupid affectation you put on. Then again, if that’s truly you, then yeah, most people here hate you (save a few that are mildly amused by their fetid socks).

mmmm

build your own Grand Slam… yummy

I doubt however , that Reed is being treated at Denny’s by the Feds

He is either:

  1. COMPLETELY innocent, like the first “Ricin letter guy” that was nabbed
and later they said “Oops, not him”

or

  1. He is guilty of having illegal pipe-bomb components and/or unregistered firearm, but is NOT
connected with the 17 April explosion (this I think is most likely)

or

  1. Something “more sinister” is in the mix

in any case, his life has been pretty well messed-up even by accusation

Is there some reason you can’t wait until we find out which it is before you Pit whatever it is you are currently Pitting?

I’m not following the story closely, but I’ll say that the first thing that went through my mind when I read your thread title was “fear of a potential mob-justice situation emerging.”

just ANXIOUS, I guess, Mace.

Allow me to congratulate the OP for more coherence than I have come to expect from him.

Yeah. I hadn’t noticed the OP before, so I wandered off to see why he thought everyone hated him. Yikes!

Since the result of the investigation into the cause of the explosion is supposed to be announced later today, you may be right. If so, the OP’s option 3 is probably the right answer. But this is all speculation on my part; we’ll see.
