Excel Database Syntax Question

I need help parsing a database query from within an ancient (older than 12 yrs) excel spreadsheet that accesses another spreadsheet “Membrs_m.xls” that’s supposed to reside in a hard-coded location ‘C:\Excel\Sections\Membrs_m.xls’. The command is as follows:

=DGET(‘C:\Excel\Sections\Membrs_m.xls’!wsectmet,2,B10:B11)

My question is: What is this !wsectmet,2 portion of the query? I haven’t had much luck with the help files and a bit of online searching, but I’m a pretty basic level user so I might have missed what I’m looking for.

It’s the named block of cells that contain the table in Membrs_m.xls.

As nivlac said, this is referring to a named block of cells (wsectmet). The “2” after the comma is specifying column two of that block.

Awesome! Thanks, folks! I had a feeling that you guys would come through faster than if I had to muddle through a bunch of FAQS and help docs.
