Excel Q: Getting Rid of Hyperlinks

Okay, for reasons I won’t get into I’m downloading from a free site on the Web some statistics where the header and column-1 lines are hyperlinked. And my copy of Excel, which came with the machine, has the help index disabled – it wants to read the material in from the MS Office CD, which did not come with the machine.

I remember from past use of Excel that there is a means of converting hyperlinks to text, but not what it is. So can anyone kindly explain the proper keystrokes to do so?

I don’t know the official way to do this. But you can select the cells, copy and paste special/values one row above. Then delete the hyperlink row.

I just use the right-click menu, select “hyperlinks” then “remove.”

Where did you purchase your computer? Any OEM software that comes pre-installed should have a disc for re-installing.
