This is extremely cool. I love her coat of arms. I must look to see whether I can find a vid of the ceremony online.
Nice motto, too - I hope she can carry it off - Og knows we need fewer solitudes. She has some big shoes to fill, though, as Clarkson has proven to be one of the better GGs, and has far exceeded my initial expectations (“Adrianne Clarkson? What has she done other than be on TV?”).

One thing that does annoy me a bit is the whole “two solitudes = English and French not understanding each other.” The original quotation, the epigraph to Hugh MacLennan’s Two Solitudes, was from Rilke: “Love consists in this, that two solitudes protect and touch and greet each other.” It means *rapprochement, not division.
