Executive ban on offshore drilling lifted

[QUOTE=buttonjockey308]
What? Why does gas need to be cheaper? WHAT? Was this seriously a question? People are in trouble, cousin. In a big way. Everything is tied to the price of gas. EVERYTHING. Everything you touch, own, use, eat, whatever, was on a train, truck or other type of vehicle that burned some kind of refined hydrocarbon fuel. When it costs more to get to the store, it costs you more. This fact hits poor people hardest, and because of that, all taxpayers get hit harder.

And? This may be the inevitable consequences of many years of bad choices. Yes, prices are going up but that may be the way the world is going. All the changes you suggested may be swamped by the increased demand from India and China.

There may be no way to get oil prices down to the levels they were 10 years ago. There is pain associated with changes in the economy, but we may have limited control over them.
