She is not iconic, and she has already got her own comic in the “New 52”, so I don’t think so.
She’s also rather obviously not male.
Are you saying there is an actual story where some pink kryptonite turns Superman fabulous so to speak?
Near the end of Peter David’s Supergirl run, Supergirl finds herself in the Pre-Crisis universe. Superman is exposed to Pink Kryptonite. Linda is the only one who understands the change that comes over him. (Because the pre-Crisis universe is all Silver Age stupid, and ‘gay’ doesn’t exist.)
It was Batwoman, and she was essentially a new character at the time. (the first post-crisis appearance, after decades, IIRC).
As a kid, I had superhero action figures, Green Lantern among the, and I don’t consider myself a comic book nerd, so I disagree that Green Lantern is unknown to non nerds.
Wrong Green Lantern, I expect. This one wears a cape.
Apparently it caused him to hit on Jimmy Olsen. But this took place in an alternate reality, and was in a fairly recent story (2003).
The local news just did a teaser for this story appearing on their newscast later tonight.
Using a picture of Hal Jordan.
As Parallax.
:smack:
This would be awesome.
This is also awesome. In it’s stupidness.
I just looked it up and it seems a lot of news agencies are using that picture. Typical journalism. One guy does a story, and uses a wrong picture, and everyone else just copies and pastes.*

Is Obsidian in the new reboot? And is HE still gay? If so, this might make things weird for Scott, assuming the reports are true. It just feels lazy to make the father of the “preexisting” (whatever that means with the reboot) gay character gay himself (although the theory above about deliberately taking advantage of the layman’s confusion with multiple Green Lanterns makes a lot of sense).
From Yes, Minister:
Obsidian is not in it. This is supposed to be Earth 2. I am not current on todays comics so I’m not sure what that means.
But from the articles I’ve read this is a younger Alan and he is not married and has no gay son. Also he’s supposed to be a Mark Zuckerberg type character in his non-super hero life.
Here’s a good article with one of the writers.
Here’s a pic of the new Alan Scott.
Okay…thanks for the info…the things you learn around here ![]()
Punoqllads, what about the Sun?
And the mistaken picture just illustrates what I was saying, that DC wouldn’t announce that Alan Scott was gay, they’d announce that the Green Lantern was gay, and let everyone assume they knew which Green Lantern they meant.
You’d still think the papers could have found a picture of Green Lantern where he wasn’t literally flaming, though.
Apparently, Robinson specifically decided to make Alan gay because making this version young removed Obsidian from the picture, and he wanted to keep the number of positive gay characters up. (And was immediately given the greenlight on doing so.)
(And looking at those preview pages, I like his boyfriend…patient, cute, proactive in preventing Alan from testing his patience… Boy I hope he doesn’t fall into the pattern of the other Alan’s wives, and turn out to be a supervillain.)
Sun readers don’t care who runs the country, as long as she has big tits.
Happy now?
I don’t believe this link has been posted in this thread yet. It’s a capture from the comic in question:
