This is embarassing, seeing as I was a science major, but I am uncertain as to what is what in the following experiment my ninth grade daughter did.
She used serial dilutions of an original 20% molasses solution and measured the amount of C02 released (as a measure of yeast metabolism). I think that the % molasses is the independent variable, and the amount of CO2 released the dependent variable. Is this correct?
If you mean should she plot the CO[sub]2[/sub] on the vertical axis and the solution percent concentration on the horizontal axis then the answer is yes.
