You guys all keep on arguing about the movie version. Since this all happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away and since somebody has the original story that Lucas based the films on. Can anyone provide a cite to the original sources?

Uh… dude, the script of the movies as approved by Lucas IS the original source. Any novelizations come from the movies, not vice-versa.
