Anyone hear of a crematorium that exploded when one of the cadavers had some unknown explosive chemicals on them? Apparently happened in the 50’s or 60’s at Forest Lawn in Glendale, CA.
Any news on this? I can’t find any…
I have nothing specific on any incidents at Forest Lawn.
If people aren’t paying attention, crematory explosions are an ever-present hazard.
Implanted mediacal devices, particularly pacemakers, must be removed befor cremation or they do explode. There are also some bone implants that are known to explode in cremation.
