Explosion at South Korean Military Base

From The Korea Times:

3 people injured in explosion at military base in Gimhae

Three civilians were injured in an explosion at a military base in this southeastern city on Monday, authorities said.

The explosion occurred during an inspection of a recently constructed tank facility for hazardous materials at the base of a logistics support group in Gimhae, about 310 kilometers southeast of Seoul, at 9:27 a.m., according to the police and firefighting officials.

Gimhae is the city just to the west of Busan and this was at a Korean, not US, military base.

I don’t think it is going to pass inspection.

Don’t jump to conclusions. It was stored and there’s no doubt now that whatever it was definitely qualifies as hazardous.

I actually found out about this last night while watching videos on Kuaishou.

The North Koreans have been sending drones into South Korea; any possibility that’s the cause of the explosion?

That far south? Incredibly doubtful.

Israel is regularly being attacked by drones from Yemen, which is much further away than any two points in North and South Korea.

Well, now it won’t. But one wonders given that the infamous Sampoong Department store had passed inspections before it became a pile of rubble with over 500 dead.

Undoubtedly there are hundreds of NK agents and sympathizers that far south though.
