We just signed on a condo and are looking into the interior. My wife and I really like the exposed beams.
The ceilings now are concrete, so and we want to have in a drop ceiling, but not a suspended ceiling with ceiling tile. This is in Taiwan, and it looks like they frequently use thin plywood for drop ceilings.
Are furring strips with anchor bolts the way to go for the drop ceiling? What are good ways to hand the exposed beams?
What are the exposed beams made of?
I assume you don’t mean a suspended or drop ceiling but would like to cover the concrete?
I would check with your local fire code because I don’t think thin sheets of plywood (with an air gap) would have a sufficient fire rating.
It’s a poorly written OP. Sorry.
The beams are wood (like a 4X4) and we would be adding them just for the look. They don’t need to be covered for fire code because they are just decoration.
I’d like to drop the ceiling at least several inches in order to be able to move the lighting around.
