Exterior door sticking

It has been a very wet summer, and one of our exterior doors is sticking, the weather strippping is catching on the wooden threshold. It is a weathershield door with rather complex weather shielding on the bottom, the door seems to stick on one of plastic vanes. The weatherstripping itself seems to be in good shape. I have sanded and sanded the wood threshold, and have even tried filing the stripping itself, all to no avail. It sticks as bad as always. Anything I have not tried, or any advice?

The door might actually be sagging and you might need to adjust the hinge screws. Here are a few tricks you can try.

Sanding a swollen door during damp weather can be problematic because you risk sanding too much preventing a tight seal during dry periods. A quick fix usually involves spraying silicone around the door frame to prevent sticking. When dry weather returns and the door contracts as it releases moisture, you may want to remove the door and repaint it making sure you paint both the top and bottom edges. Many times the bottom and/or top edge is not adequately painted and there’s nothing to prevent moisture from infiltrating the door at this area causing it to swell.
