extra eggs?

Is it true that when a couple decides to opt for artificial insemination (for whatever reason), and succeed, all the unused eggs are trashed?

I don’t believe so since I believe I remember a divorce case where the man wanted to destroy frozen eggs and the wife wanted to have custody of them. Too weird for me.

No, for in vitro fertilization, the decision whether or not to discard the unused embryos is left up to the couple. Usually the couple chooses to cryogenically freeze the embryos, so they can have a shot at having another kid. In artificial insemination, nothing is discarded–in this procedure, a turkey-baster type thing is used to introduce semen into a woman’s uterus, in hopes of getting her pregnant.

I think I’m going to be sick next Thanksgiving…

Teebone

I think they wash it.

we can only hope

Don’t worry, the heat of the oven will completely sterilize the semen before you carve the turkey.

oh, good, now i feel better, thanks
