Extra! Extra!-- Kay Graham Killed Her Husband.

Ladies and gentlemen was my title in poor taste? Would it break decorum if I decided, on the day of Kay Graham’s death, to resurrect decades old allegations that Kay Graham murdered her husband, and seized control of the newspaper to advance her communistic ideology?

Well, if you think so, don’t read this editorial in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

Here are some nice lovely gems from the paper.

Maybe they’ve read a different Post that I have. I remember that the Post believed Clinton fucked himself royally and that he should have resigned. Just because they also think the Congress fucked up too, doesn’t mean they “stridently defended [Clinton].” But Clinton’s impeachment wasn’t really on Kay’s watch.

Oh, she’s a commie now, isn’t she. So that little strike that occurred in 1975 with the press union, she supported that, right? Oh, wait, she had the presses run with or without Local 6 of the NewsPaper and Graphic Communications Union. Maybe that was cover so she wouldn’t look too much like a pinko.

But here’s my favorite part…

Come on Trib-Review, don’t cower behind your unsigned editorial! If you have evidence of this, take some ink to newsprint and lay it out for all of us armchair forensics! I watch CSI and Scooby-Doo! I want to practice my crime-solving skills!

Would she be one of them Illumanti people controling the world governments, or is she one of them bagle-eating jew girls who control all them banks. Please, all of them NWO fighting rednecks want to know!

As is this editorial. Having not ever read your newspaper before, (I found the ed. from MediaNews.org) I truly sincerely hope you don’t run the rest of the ship the way your malcontents run the editorial pages. I would wish that starving weasels were stitched into your editorial writer’s intestines, but that would probably be in poor taste.

Magnificent. applauds, throws roses

Why do you want to inflict that fate on poor starving weasels ?

This is my papers (The Guardian – UK) somewhat more charitable version of Phil Graham’s slow demise:

“Graham’s husband had been suffering from undiagnosed manic depression for some time. Then he started an affair with a young woman reporter from Newsweek and took her on a Lolita-like tour around the US, ending up at the 1963 convention of the Associated Press, where he grabbed the microphone, made obscene comments and started taking his clothes off. After an appalling succession of escapades he returned home and shot himself. His wife found the body”

Question: Who owns the Pitsburgh Tribune-Review ?

If I recall what I read correctly, it’s a Richard Mellon Scaife paper, but I’m having problems accessing MediaNews.org

I’m not really surprised; Scaife publications seem to operate on a slander-first mentality. But doing so to a dead woman seems to be beyond galling.

I thought it was Rupert Murdoch? Oh well, both RM initials.

But seriously, what do you expect from the Trib?

As a Washingtonian, I have no fuckin’ clue. Are they normally like this.

Heck, the Washington Times behaved itself like a respectable news organization. Was that honestly too much to ask from the Trib? Is it some type of tabloid? Are there always sinister motives at work? Couldn’t they have just ignored her death instead of look like stark-raving lunatics?

It is, indeed, a Richard Mellon Scaife paper. That should dispel any surprise that people are experiencing over the paper doing something stupid. Scaife is well-known in Pittsburgh as a complete, controlling asshole. If he doesn’t want something put in his paper, it doesn’t get put in. Period. Because of this, the paper has a really crappy rep in town. My guess is that RMS didn’t agree with something that Kay Graham had said at some point in time.

An intersting Scaife story: recently, “Brill’s Content” ran an article about how RMS censored the Tribune Review. I wanted to buy the magazine and read the article, but when I went to newstands, all of the issues for that month had been bought up. Literally. All of them. Anybody else see something funny about this?

What a dipshit.

I first read this as “beagle-eating jew girls.”
It has a certain ring to it.

BTW, would you capitalize “jew girl?”

Yeah, you’re right. It’s right here on page 64 of Elements of Style for Anti-Semites. I apologize for any offense my oversight may have caused.

For those of you joining late, the editorial can now be found here! It’s nice to see Scaife raise the level of journalistic discourse.

[sub]PS: Hey Richard Mellon, the father of the Wash Post publisher Boisfeuilet Jones Jr. died yesterday. You want to tell us how the now dead man molested his children? Don’t chicken out NOW[/sub]
