Extraordinary

Anyone else know this one? Some number of years back and for unknown reasons, people started gaining one (and only one) superpower each after they turn 18. This became the new normal, and the occasional person who doesn’t get a power are pittied and even ostrich-sized. Season 1 came out last year, season 2 dropped today. I’ve watched the first new episode and I actually remember most of the earlier plot because it has been a mere 14 months between seasons. It is pretty hilarious.

I added this to my watchlist last night. Planning to start watching this week.

Oh, good! I watched the first season and thought it was charming. I’ll definitely watch season 2.

Never heard of it. But sounds interesting and I’ll probably tune in.

Are the superpowers wacky or useful? Or sorta both, where it works and does something useful, but is accident-prone?

It is a mix. Some people can fly. Or have super strength. Or can turn invisible. Or anyone they are talking to has to tell the truth (as seen in the trailer). Others not so much. Like a censorship guy where anyone around them cursing gets bleeped. And a guy who knows how long it is going to be until a woman’s next period. Oh, and there’s one guy who can 3D print at will any object out of his butt as long as it is a size/shape to fit.

Best auto-incorrect I’ve seen all week.

I enjoyed the first season, so I’ll watch the second. I still can’t get over thinking the one guy who’s a cat looks like Daniel Radcliffe after a three-day bender, though.

Sounds a little like George R. R. Matrin’s Wild Cards? There 90% of people who get the virus die, most of the rest become Jokers (hideously deformed monsters), but a lucky few become Aces (where it works and does something useful), except some of those are deuces (it does something useless or wacky).

I’m 3 episodes in and enjoying it so far.

Be aware that there are mid-credits scenes.
