This morning I was driving north through New York on my way to New Hampshire. I noticed what I thought was two planes heading for Newark airport - I could see no stars in the sky, and two extremely bright object. The dimmer object was ‘above and right’ of the brighter.
But, as it turns out, they weren’t planes - they were visible in the south east from about 4 AM through sunrise. What were they?
Saw them over DC this morning too and didn’t know what they were. I decided they were alien mind probes and got on with my day, but it’s nice to know what they actually were.
Jupiter and Venus…lovely, aren’t they?
Here in Indiana, the show is supposed to be even better on Tuesday morning, apparently. I can’t remember specifics, except that the sliver of moon should appear to be closer to them than usual.
Gotta love a job that invites you to look at the sky at 4:00 a.m. every day!
Best,
karol
Glad someone else mentioned it, because I saw them this morning on my way out to my car. Damned alarm was going off at 5:15 am, and I wasn’t in the mood to enjoy the wonders of the universe. But I did note that there were two extremely bright stars up there as I shuffled back into the house.
So if it was swamp gas, and it’s being seen both from New England and the Southwest, then somebody’s swamp has a gas problem of apocolyptic proportions.
