eye injury

Is it possible to die from an eye injuy?

Harold II, King of England, did.

Any injury can kill you if it becomes infected. I imagine that an eye injury would be difficult to prevent infection in, and it’s close to the sinuses and the brain, where the spread of infection would be pretty serious.

A blade, projectile, or pike (even an ice pick) could go through the eye and cause brain death.

Playing doctor again (I am most emphatically not one), seems to me that if something sufficiently hard hit the orbit of the eye (i.e. the bones surrounding it) with sufficient force it could cave in that part of the skull and drive bits of bone into the brain. That might suffice.

Classic assassin:
Tie up victim.lace pillow over face, file .22 caliber into eye.

The round is sub-sonic (one of very few commercially-made rounds which DON’T break sound barrier), it is too weak to exit the skull, so bounces around chewing up the brain and destroying the ballistics on the round.

If you don’t have time to get a pellet gun, a writing pen in the eye socket does the same.

Maybe I’m interpreting the OP incorrectly, but it seems to me that a lot of the suggestions here are not death due to eye injury. They are death due to a head injury with the eye as the location of entrance.

Maybe the OP can clear up what he is asking for.

It is not the injury that will be the cause of death, It will be the infection that will cause this. In any injury there is a risk of infection that we should be cautious about. Sometimes the the injury itself is minor then the infection will cause it to be fatal.
