Fabulous online physics-based game

Am I the only one who likes zooming out and watching the contraptions fall off the island and into empty space? Almost all the contraptions keep going and meet this fate, some more entertainingly than others.

You’d probably like this one.

Here’s the quick way through Up The Stairs

Are you channeling William Tell or Robing Hood?

Anyway, stairs? what stairs?

Nice work. I had a cruder implementation of the same idea above in post #56.

Full Up Ramp

Anyone else do something like this for Down Under?

Beautiful. Simple. Elegant. Much less complex than mine.

Kinda Sorta… I don’t know why, but I really like the wheel on wheel action.

My proudest solution so far! big ball

I kinda like this way of doing Handling. With some work I could probably make it prettier and more accurate.

Don’t see many people using reverse wheels in their designs, so I’m looking for simple, elegant solutions, using only reverse wheels. I may go back and put an anchor or brake on it so it doesn’t go off the island. I find these constraints make me more creative.

Enjoy,
Steven

wind isn’t mine, but I think you’ll like it.

Fixed link. I like that one.

Thanks for the help on the link Santo Rugger. I noticed it too late to edit. I went back and put a tail on it and with a tail it keeps its balance better and stays on the island. It doesn’t knock the big ball off either.

I’m a little embarassed by what this next one does after the goal is scored, but a single reverse-wheel solution to “higher” which meets my additional criteria of keeping both the contraption and the ball on the island.

Enjoy,
Steven

I’m rather pleased with my solution to “awash”. It had me worried where it slips backward down the ramp after about 40 seconds, but the little sucker catches itself and pushes on through.

I started out pulling the thing rather than pushing it, and then catching something on the overhead block to straighten it. It isn’t pretty, but it works just fine.

It must have taken forever to get that spin timed just right.

And clearly I need to go to bed. This is my slightly embarassing solution to “Higher”.

Enjoy,
Steven

Nice, simple design, and it puts tab A in slot B. Nothing to be embarrassed about there.

Nice. I like the way the arm unfolds.

It hadn’t previously occurred to me to try to make the little red thingie go into the goal box before the ball comes down (I had a rather brute force lifting design for that level), but then I tried a simple ‘booster’ design that accelerates a small car – it works almost too well!

I’m pretty happy with my solutions to Awash and Handling, but Down Under and Unpossible are still giving me fits.

Here is my solution to Handler. Seems to be one of the simplest solutions I’ve seen. I had a couple of more complex solutions but I really tried to get this as simple as possible.

I’ve been looking into getting the simplest possible solutions as well, so far I like this one for Full Up best: Two Pieces

Finally beat Unpossible. Now, I just have to figure out that damned “Down Under”. Must…not…cheat…
