Facebook Question: Share to a Group

I have a personal Facebook account and I have a page called Flying Cars and Food Pills that posts fun images on retrofuturism. I’m also a member of several retrofuture Facebook groups.

When I post something to the Flying Cars and Food Pills page, I also want to share it with one of these groups. That used to be easy. I clicked on Share to a Group, several group names appeared, and I choose the one that fit best.

Over time, the list shortened. Recently only one name appeared. Than it too vanished. A “search for groups” box does appear but when I type in the name of a group it tells me no such groups are found.

Underneath it says, “Your Page, Flying Cars and Food Pills, is not linked to any groups where it can share posts.” I click on “Link your group.” The response reads “This content isn’t available right now. When this happens, it’s usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it’s been deleted.”

I know I’m still part of these groups. In fact, when I change the account to my name and try to share, these group names appear and I can share to them.

I can’t find any help pages that explain why my groups have disappeared or why I can’t link my page or why there is now a difference between my page and my account that didn’t used to be there. I assume something at Facebook changed internally, but that’s a black box to me.

If it matters my account is visible only to friends, but it shows the groups, and I can’t find anything to determine whether the page is open to the public, although it has always worked that way, but is now not showing groups. That’s the opposite of what I would expect.

Any suggestions? Any ideas what that mysterious error message means? Any place to go for help inside Facebook?
