Failure to appear at a dissolution of marriage hearing

What are the ramifications of failing to appear at a dissolution of marriage hearing in the state of Ohio?

or…
Where could I go to get this information on the web?

Thank you

IANA lawyer, but as I understand it, if one party fails to appear at a civil procedure, there is a summary judgement against that party. Whatever evidence is presented by the party who shows up is accepted, as there is no one there to contest it.

VERY BAD to not show to a court hearing.

I got divorced in Minnesota. I wasn’t required to attend the hearing, but I did so anyway to protect my interests.

You probably ought to talk to a divorce lawyer, though.

Unless you’ve made other arrangements no shows generally lose by default if there is a win/lose point at issue in the hearing.

Read this looks like you should have attended.

Sorry this got left off. More here .
