OP here, in fairness to @Gatopescado , I did mention a second con, from a few years ago, when 49 year old James Turner was telling women he was Dante Sir Foster, a football player on the Broncos.
I met that guy. He wore very nice clothes, expensive cologne, and worked out regularly, but he was far too old to plausibly be a player. How did he manage it?
Well, for one, he clearly lied about his age,
But he also preyed on women who weren’t football fans - anybody who was at all shrewd called him out pretty quick. Those he conned (even if only out of sexual conquests - a sexual assault charge was dropped when it came out that she discovered he was lying because she was boasting about who she had slept with, and actual fans quickly pointed out the ruse) were just aware that he was rich and famous and an athlete.
