Fake movie trailers

I can’t get enough of those fake movie trailers. You know the type I mean, where someone will make a trailer for a movie to make it look like a completely different genre.

For example, my favorite is this one:

10 Things I Hate About Commandments

Recommend me some other good ones!

Oh, my favorite is definitely the spoof prefiew for The Shining. This is hilarious.

Toy story 2 : Requiem for a dream
Brokeback to the future

Monty Python’s Serach for the Holy Grail: The Adventure Begins

300: PG Version

Scary Mary Poppins
Titanic: Two the Surface
Wife Force One
ObiWan (Rocky spoof)

I got nothin’, at least not as far as a linky to a viddy.
However, I was much amused by SCTV’s 1977 skit The Man Who Would Be King of the Popes.

Not quite what you’re asking for, but I was deeply disappointed when Blow’d Up did not actually get made. It has a “Snakes on a Plane” kind of appeal in its simplicity.

I remember a longer trailer, one with more explosions, (including at least a semi), but I can’t find it.

Not exactly what you want. It’s a student made trailer for a film that doesn’t exist, but still worth seeing :

*Grayson *:

(in which Robin hunts for Batman’s killer)

Not only that, but Anna Nicole Smith appears as if she was actually acting in it! (Her role in Naked Gun 33 1/3 wasn’t that bad, but you could still tell that she was, well, Anna Nicole Smith.)

That one was absolutly insane. I’m a bit disappointed it’s not a real movie.

Found this one : Glen & Gary & Glen & Ross

Do not play this one at work.

If you look at this at work, turn your speakers down: Glen & Gary & Glen & Ross

ETA: Dammit, shoulda previewed. Too slow.

The Terminator recut as a chick flick

Not a recut trailer exactly, but this is hilarious :

(uses Goodfellas audio, some strong language)

Frodo and Sam: Secret Lovers
TBS ad for The Lord of the Rings

Just go ahead and close the thread now:

The Trailer Mash Web Site

Anchorman/300 is genius.

Office Space recut as a horror movie

In this case, they have a screenplay, and managed to film enough scenes for a trailer. I’d love it if they could film the whole movie: The South Will Rise Again.

Check out Loose Shoes(1980). It’s a whole movie of fake trailers. It’s hit or miss, but the ones that hit are outrageously funny!
