Fake news on Facebook?

Apparently FB will somehow crack down on fake news. I’m on FB. Where do these stories show up? On links submitted by users?

I saw a shared story of Muslims “attacking” a Christmas tree. There was another about Obama banning the pledge of allegiance in schools a few months back and a third about a BLM protestor smacking a police horse and getting kicked by the horse in retaliation. Snopes debunked all three, with varying levels of inaccuracy. I’m assuming Facebook will hire better fact checkers and I think that’s a good thing to cut down on the propganda.

I recently saw and then shared a story on Facebook that said Mark Zuckerburg had died, and it noted that he denied that Facebook had fake news. Maybe that will help.

The news stories are in a feed on the right side of the page. They may also include stories that are shared by your friends, but I’m pretty sure that it is the Trending feed that is going to be changed.

Yeah, it’s called Trending, but it’s really news.

All this stuff about “fake news” is just a ploy by major media to suppress the truth.
