Except that would likely discourage people from using the turn signal (more so than they already do) because they find the blinking annoying, especially when sitting at a stop light.
As any fan of the movie Airplane knows, the movie is a remake of an earlier disaster film, Zero Hour. The original film featured a propeller plane. In the remake, the plane was a more modern Boeing. But they still used the old propeller noise whenever they showed the outside establishing shots.
I experienced this for the first time yesterday. She was very lifelike. Even pausing to think. Erie.

In reading the Wikipedia article on that book, I noticed this, and had to share:
