Ah! I’m the one who answered “rice” in the chess piece question.
I meant “rook” but answered Condoleeza above that. But I got the same number of points (42!) either way, and this way, I added some surreality to your days.

So what were the “right” answers?
The highest score anyone could have gotten in this game was 89 (Maple; the Battle of the Bulge; John Cleese; Colin Powell; Bishop; Ben Hur, Crash, The Godfather, or Shakespeare in Love; Dracula; Firefly or Doctor Who; Leopard; Six or Eight). In theory a person could score a maximum of 230 points in this game.
I decided everyone else would be thinking too hard, so I’d just answer what I thought would be the “right” answer. I usually pick quite a few number two or three answers–so I figured following my instinct would work. I did get three zeros–but a nice respectable 51 none-the-less.
Woo! 2nd place!
And I don’t think it’s that weird, I normally finish somewhere in the top half of the pack with a few number 1’s and a lot of number 2’s. So a game centered around number 2’s really works for me.
But in some cases I just got damn lucky, I was sure John Cleese would have been the top MP pick. But he wasn’t, so windfall for me.
33rd…
Kind of crushing to find out that my score is less than half of someone’s who goes by the name of Really Not All That Bright…
I’m sure the results have already been tabulated, but I can’t resist posting and then seeing how many points I would have scored:
Wow tenth place. I’m surprised I did that well.
Like just about everyone else has said, I too chose Eric Idle because John Cleese would undoubtedly be the number one choice.
I chose “Science Fiction Theater” for the Sci-Fi show. I notice it isn’t even listed in the tally. Wow, I really went way beyond picking the 2nd place spot for that category.
Hey this was fun (and not just because I finished in the 80th percentile). Heck, I like playing the Celebrity Dead Pool in which I usually finish in the zeroth percentile.
1 Elm
2 Battle of El-Alamein
3 John Cleese
4 Condi Rice
5 Knight
6 Shakespeare in Love (should have been Saving Private Ryan…bastards)
7 Dracula (might as well go for it…)
8 Firefly
9 Bengal Tiger
10 nine
ETA: I hate when I miss the deadline…
That was my fault. I hadn’t heard of the show and I wrongly assumed you actually meant Mystery Science Theater 3000. For what it’s worth they were both single picks so they scored the same.
