Well, maybe VH will show up for a surprise Christmas present visit. That would be a true candid camera moment  . . . and not in a good way.
I’m glad you took my post in the way it was intended. . . mostly tongue-in-cheek.
Couple more questions. Just slightly more seriously. Just to think about. Is the dinner sit-down or buffet. . . catered or potluck? Is it a big party or intimate get-together? Are your other classmates invited? And definitely find out if VH will be there. More info. will help you better determine what’s going on. It makes a difference if it’s just you, him, mom and dad or if it’s you, him and 100 other people including all your other classmates.
I hope you find something really fun to do that makes you forget about the whole situation.
I’m guessing that one of the big drawbacks to the whole situation is that normalcy lacks in them.
I be fine. Wanna invite me over to your dad’s house for Christmas? You and your family can go to London and I’ll hang out with your dad. He’ll be walking by then, right?
Oh Lunch, you’re such a party poop. . . who knew?!
Haze, you might want to listen to him. He sounds like he knows exactly what he’s talking about.*
*Of course, he sounds like that about a lot of things. . . but still. . . you never know!
**McUNE **-- 74 Dozen??? You must have loads of cookies left over!
::Opens CD drive hopefully::
Guess you don’t do international delivery?
No way. When you finally break down and deign to visit my lovely country you can bet your bottom dollar I want to be here, in order to… to help make you visit more enjoyable
That’s because I always know exactly what I’m talking about!
… Er… what were we talking about again? :o
**Rigs **-- are you happy with that final, or just with the fact that you are now finished with it?
**Haze **-- you shouldn’t be thinking you have to stop sharing here. *And you’re **not *whining. You’ve as much as said you don’t have anyone else you can talk to about this… There’s not really much the MMP group is truly relevant for in Real Life, but some kind of group support, or even just a place to vent and share for those who need it, is surely one of the things we can do.
And I’m sorry if I came across as judgmental… That’s not what I meant; I know you’re confused, and I understand.
I woke up to a power failure. Also, it’s warmish out. Gonna be low 80s Amurrkin today and be warm all week. Weird, freaky weather even for here. I mean, even around these parts, lookin’ at a short sleeve shirt to wear in the morning is strange in December. We might not need jackets or sweaters or coats, but we do need long sleeved shirts. Just. Weird.
Up and caffeinatin’ here. Contemplating makin’ breakfast but that would be two days in a row and well, we don’t want ol’ y’all know who to get too spoiled now do we? Still, I’m kinda hongry.
Haze we don’t consider it whining. We hope we can make you make some sense out of this. BTW, DON’T GO!!! We’re an empathetic and opioniated group, ain’t we!
I got stuff wrapped last night. YAAAAAAY!!!
MCUNE just reading that y’all made 74 dozen cookies made me tahred! Next weekend is the annual cookie party. See, we have a friend who goes into a baking frenzy in December. She invites people over for dinner and dessert is sugar cookies that we decorate. It’s fun. Plus she gives everybody a huuuuuuuge tray of cookies and other baked goods to take home. This is the same person who made my birthday cake with the beer mug decoration. She’s talented with this baking/decorating stuff!
gt they were out of Twinkies??? Well, we know where not to shop from now on, don’t we?
OK, off to, do… who knows! More caffiene for sure.
Eh. Just woke up. Probably will be going back to bed in an hour or so. You’ll be gone for a week soon? ::sniff:: But who will entertain and console and CHECK UP on me so early in the morning?
Ummmm, people, I believe Room 304 is available. (On preview, I see that doggio was thinking the same thing. That’s scary.)
Don’t worry about it Hank. It’s healthy to talk through it and sort things out for yourself. Might get you to a better answer in the end (even if it’s not one that we all like). I know the hardest thing is actually being the one in the middle of the situation. The right answer seems obvious to everyone else, but doesn’t feel obvious (or even possible) to you. Does that even make sense? In any case: hugs and good wishes in sorting things out.
Someone over on GoodReads posted a link to a compilation of Best Books of 2007 lists. It’s on a blog called fimoculous. It took a while to figure out that it was actually a blog and not an aggregator service. Looks like the guy works for MSNBC. He has some interesting media and tech links as well as odd celebrity gossip stuff. It has a rather frantic feel to it, but lots of info, including a link that led me to this interesting bunny.
I didn’t wake up until 7:30 almost!!! Of course, I fell asleep around 1:00, but still, semi-normal sleeping is an accomplishment. The bad news: it appears that The Sick is trying to get to me. I have the beginnings of a sore throat. I blame LiLi.
I’ve gathered my scarf and am drinking tea and making sure I have everything to take to my friend’s party this afternoon. Need to get ready for church…
I didn’t pass it to you! I swear I didn’t! I washed my hands before typing! Honest!
74 dozen. I’m impressed. You’re loony. Pass the cookies.
The dojo party was good, much sushi (which I didn’t eat- I had at least five people ready to grab me if I tried for the sushi. Relax, guys, I don’t even like the stuff) and much drinking (which I didn’t do) and lots of people patting the baby (with permission) and haning out. Very nice. There’s about ten people who seem to be in every program and either black belt or above, and them plus a whole lot of the coloured belts equalled maybe thirty or forty people milling around.
Good times. The brownies and cookies all got eaten fast.
I feel better today. I’m winning. Yay!
Time for tea and hauling Mr. Lissar out of his nice warm bed for Mass. And figuring out what to have for lunch (N.O.L) when the friend comes over to help throw things out.
Good morning. My, there were some frisky folks here early this morning! Rooms 304 and 305? What, no big [del]orgy[/del] party in just one room?
I slept really well last night, and had lovely dreams, and woke up this morning all warm and cozy with silly Emily snuggled up incredibly close to me purring her little head off. So I stayed there for a while – who can resist a snuggly, purring kittycat? Mind you, I realize this is all a plot on her part to keep me in bed all day because she much prefers snuggling with a human to just sleeping by herself, even though I’m not sure, try as I might, I could manage to join her for the 23.75 hours of sleep a day she feels obligated to get in order to maintain her beautiful condition. Silly cat!
I can’t tell if it’s actually raining outside, or if everything is just wet from the last of the snow melting. In either case, it’s chilly (40F/4.4C), grey and gloomy, and damp and yucky looking. It’s a good day to just stay in and nest. Which is fortunate since that’s my plan for the day.
Don’t everyone have too much fun eating/decorating cookies! They don’t just contain imaginary calories, you know!
Yes, it makes perfect sense. And the part of me that has managed to stay rational also knows the obvious answer, but the rest of me doesn’t want to know. If that makes sense.
Thank you guys. :: gets all teary eyed and emotional :: No, seriously, thanks. Sometimes venting here is the only thing that keeps me sane. And I do need someone around to scold me. Because obviously I can’t tell my mom about this.
It’s going to be his mother, stepdad, brother, grandmother, and him. And me, depending on what I decide, I suppose. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t invited anyone else; although I’m sure he would, if anyone close to us were in danger of spending Christmas alone.
Anyway.
Yesterday we went to a local crafts fair and I got a felt flower pin for my hat (pics later). Cloud Maiden got a ceramic Pop Tart pendant. We then ate enough ribs to last us till next spring before coming back to our place and watching Salem’s Lot. (Cloud Maiden wanted to watch Dirty Dancing, but Mr Cheerio refused. )
Greetings! I kinda broke my morning routine today - once I took the critters out, **FCD ** was up, and we watched When Harry Met Sally on TV. Bernie was on my side of the bed (on the floor), Scruffy was in her bed next to FCD’s side of the bed, and Brandy was curled up between us, getting skritches while we watched the movie. A very cozy morning.
We showered, dressed, and headed to the mall to walk around. We couldn’t remember the last time we went mall walking. And we decided that his folks and our kid are getting gift cards for dinner at Outback, which we’ll pick up on our way to our anniversary dinner tonight.
We’re going to the Japanese Steak House where we had our anniv dinner last year. Gee, is this how traditions start?? But for now, I’m reading my Sunday funnies and scanning the boards. Then I’ll change into grubbies and go play in clay for a little while. Yet another lazy day.
