Mrs. Napier’s PC is old and decrepit. I switched to the Mac 6 years ago and don’t want to ever go back. So she’s thinking of getting a Mac, too – which I like, because the whole reason I got one in the first place is that I wearied of supporting a PC.
She uses Family Tree Maker software quite heavily. I have it on my Mac and it has seemed pretty buggy right from the start, but I also barely use it and never put much effort into tracking issues down, and I’m not that skilled with it, so that may not have been much of a test.
Do you use FTM on the Mac and find that it works well? Or do you go back and forth between Mac and PC with FTM, and can you compare the two platforms for it?
I see on that show with Henry Louis Gates and ancestry.com, they’re often using Macs, as if promoting FTM and Macs together. It makes me doubt my impression of bugginess can be right.
Thanks!
