Far Side Cartoon

Anyone remember the details on this one? I’m a little fuzzy:

There were two buildings, maybe one was “Association of the Blind,” and the other was “Association of Dyslexics.”

There were protesters outside both buildings, but the blind were protesting outside the “Dyslexics” building, and the dyslexics were protesting outside the “Blind” building.

I don’t think that’s exactly the description, but, again, I’m a little fuzzy.

[slight hijack]There was another Far Side cartoon with a caption along the lines of:
“xxxxxx - the feeling that you’re being watched by a duck”

That’s not exactly it, but close. What is xxxxxx? I can’t remember the word for it, and it’s been bothering me for weeks.

I have that one (the duck one) in a book at home. Will try to remember to look it up.

There was another one, with the School for Marching Bands and the Association for the study of Migraine Headaches in building next to each other. The Migraine folk were headed to the other building bearing torches and pitchforks.

The word is “anatidaephobia”, Aglarond. The OP has me stumped, though. And I though I knew all the Far Sides!

“The feeling that you’re being watched by a duck” was “anatadiphobia” (I might be off by a couple of letters, but that’s pretty much it).

In his book “The Prehistory of the Far Side” Larson apologizes for using such an absurd word, but he didn’t know how else to get the idea across.

Larson - love them cartoons they are just totally off the wall.

Have you seen any of the Glen Baxter ones, those seem to be inspired by Larson but with a slightly differant flavour.

Larson, in his Prehistory of the Far Side book, describes the duck-looking cartoon this way:

I must say, “duckalookaphobia” is darn funny.

For the OP-
Our receiving manager is a huge Far Side fan. (Maybe because our company has promoted it for a few years?) He was telling me about the blind cartoon. (We have a girl that works with us who tends to not ‘get’ the humor.) She didn’t get this one either. He was telling me that there are two buildings, one is ACME brick (or something) and the other was something to do with the blind. The blind people were protesting ACME brick, but the security guard averted disaster by telling them that the ACME building was one block over.

Or so I think. Of course the caption was way funnier than I could ever repeat or remember… Kinda like what Eddie Murphy said at the end of Delirious.

I always liked Luposlipophobia. The fear of being chased by a wolf around a table on a linoleum floor while in socks.

I remember the Blind School people singing Christmas Carols at the Deaf School, but what were the Deaf School people doing at the Blind School?
