Yes, something like that, if they’ll be true to the hint dropped in S1.
What might be fun to try to do would be to have two polls. One would be for “what you expect to happen in the finale?” and the other for “were you surprised with how the finale played out?”
My prediction, based on the twists we’ve seen thus far, would be that there would be little correlation in the two sets of answers/votes.
Has there been a show in the past 10 years with this much “new stuff” to be added to the screenwriter’s bag of tricks? Breaking Bad would be on the short list of shows I’m familiar with and maybe Justified.
Which one(s) would you add to the list?
When Lou was escorted to the state border and then received that radio call, I thought it was to tell him that his wife, Betsy, had collapsed at home and either died or was being rushed to the hospital. Was Lou even aware of what happened to her?
I don’t think anyone has told Lou about Betsy, yet. He tried to call her when it happened and could not get through, but then got distracted by the issue of the sting at the motel.
I do find it interesting that, as gory as this season has been, we did not actually see Bear kill Simone. That is what makes me suspect that he let her go. This show has not held back on the red mist for anyone else, I can’t help but wonder what else would be the point of not showing it for her.
because it adds to the mystery - that scene was fantastically played - ‘less is more’ kind of thing.
Lou isn’t aware of Betsy;s current state - he was calling from the rushmore store, got distracted, went to call at the state line- got the call on the radio and then headed back to rushmore/etc.
It did, it didnt show until later Hanzee killing Heck.
and it didnt even fully show that - it showed the aftermath in the room.
Good point.
come to think of it - have they shown any women’s death explicitly? Floyd’s was close - but that was still pretty tame and subtle.
Only other woman that died that I recall was the one in the office scene.
The waitress in the diner who got her head blown off in the first episode
And the judge of course.
In addition Heck, we didn’t see Hanzee kill Joe Bulo either. We did see the top of Bulo’s head in a box on Milligan’s table, but still, they were equally coy about the killings of Bulo, Simone and Heck.
The female South Dakota cop who was playing cards with the others was pretty well dead, I think; she got shot with a shotgun (or something else equally damaging).
right - so - not afraid to show it - just chose not to -
(How could i forget those two!!!)
A scene of Lou sitting outside the house in the dark has already been shown, early on, and Betsy came out to see why he was out there. Mention was already made about it being referred to in Season 2. Could be yet another scene like it, I suppose.

Now that the season is almost over, I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has participated in this thread.
I have a very strong feeling that almost all of you love this show and all of the actors and all the people who have made it possible.
Some of you undoubtedly will feel that I have made too many posts and could learn to just “shut up” a little more and I can’t really dispute that.
But, you people number among the most savvy and the most clever people that I’ve ever met on the Internet and I’m truly very grateful for the opportunity to participate with you all in the discussion of this miracle called “Fargo”.
I suppose that the two main shows I will try to use to “comfort” myself during the off-season will be “Game of Thrones” and “The Americans”. I look forward to seeing many of you in the threads that will discuss those shows.
I’ve recently learned that both “Longmire” and “Justified” are terrific shows and can serve very well to take the pain out of my addiction to Fargo. In addition to those two, I hope “Better Call Saul” will also come back for a second season. If anyone here feels sufficiently charitable and can post some other suggestions, I would guess that many people here would appreciate that. I know that I surely would.
Thank you all very much for putting up with me. I know that I can be a “loudmouth” at times and that is something I have struggled with for many years now and will undoubtedly continue to struggle with.
I feel truly fortunate to have met you all and to have discussed this show with all of you.
P.S. Also, “Schitts Creek” is a little known Canadian production that has grown on me. Every time I re-watch an episode, I find more reasons to LOL. I would love to recommend that show to you all as well as the others.
Yep,. good thread, good thread.
I used to like “Longmire”, but then it went to Netflix, which I hate.
I’ll look into Schitts Creek, but even with a hundred+ channels, i dont think I have it. I use TWC.
One suggestion I have for you Charlie is Trailer Park Boys. You can find it on Netflix. It’s not in the vein of Fargo, Americans, Justified, or Longmire, but every time I read your posts, I hear them in the voice of Bubbles, one of the key characters on TPB. Good luck.
I, for one, never had that thought. Glad to have you here.
