Sounds good? Hehe, yeah it does. Turns out there are many strains of cannabis that have low levels of THC but they have huge amounts of THCA. Also, harvesting plants early lowers the amount of THC without affecting THCA.
And guess what…combustion of plant material converts 83% of the THCA into psychoactive THC. Companies are taking advantage of this. Some “smoke shops” that were selling CBD products are now selling cannabis that will absolutely knock you on your ass, as long as you smoke or vape it.
Here is a company selling “hemp”. According to the farm bill, what they are doing is absolutely legal on the federal level. You can buy their Zkittles which has been tested and contains very little THC, meeting the legal definition of hemp, but once combusted you are getting 83% of the 19% THCA!
What an interesting plant. There are still gaps in our understanding of the various cannabinoids and terpenes present. I’ve read legal speculation that you are totally legal to possess this hemp, however if you combust or vaporize it you are now breaking federal law.
I’m assuming this is along the same lines (legally and psychoactively) as all the other variants that have been popping up lately (D8, D10, THCO etc).
I’m thrilled all these variants are finding cracks in the system they can sneak through. My concern is that they might accidentally stumble onto one that causes problems and set the whole movement back.
ETA, just checked the place I get D8 from. I’m surprised they don’t have it. I assume it hasn’t been around that long yet since they have like a dozen other things. Every time I check on them, they have something new (THCP-O this time)
They are all on the CBD level as far as I understand it.I’ve smoked delta8 and it was enjoyable, with very little effect. I’ve used it in joints as a diluent, sorta like the British do with tobacco in their spliffs.
A friend was driving through West Virginia and stopped at two smoke shops. Both were selling “hemp” that was without a doubt better weed than he’d had in a long time.
