Surprising that cecil failed to ding the guy for talking about the “radio waves” coming out of his car’s speaker.
It’s of course sound waves coming from the speaker and radio waves traveling (at the speed of light) to his car’s antenna.

Could have also dinged him for saying at Mach 1 he was traveling faster than the radio waves.
Much much before he could attain that speed of light, he would have left earth - forget about north avenue.
He would have left the earth before he could have attained the speed of sound - look at the work that went into making Thrust-SSC stay on the ground at Mach 1. Incidentally, I wonder why Cecil didn’t mention Thrust-SSC: it would have been a good comparison for what our friend was trying to do.

Many military aircrafts routinely exceed speed of sound. They do not leave earth. By leaving earth I mean leave the gravity grab of earth all together. It takes about 7 miles per second of speed to do that. Only some of the spacecrafts sent out did that. Speed of sound is much less than that.
