My father is sick with a flu-like illness: fever, body aches, cough, fatigue, stuffy nose. He went to see his doctor today, who diagnosed him with a sinus infection, which I’m pretty sure doesn’t cause body aches. Should I try to push him to see another doctor, just in case?
Thanks.
Edit: also lack of appetite, in case that’s important
My SO almost died, and would be dead today, if I hadn’t insisted and taken him to TWO other doctors after the first diagnosis. That third doctor saved his life. (BTW, his condition had nothing to do with the symptoms you describe.)
Needless to say, I am a firm believer in getting second and third opinions.
My sinus infection made me ach-y and the antibiotics made me feel better. But by all means get a second opinion if he hasn’t had lab work. You’ll feel better.

Just watch "Mystery Diagnosis’ on the History channel. They have program after program with people who have gone years with wrong diagnosis. it is wise to seek another opinion.
No tests done, as far as I know. I’ll try to persuade him to see another doctor, but it’s probably a no-go. Hopefully his doctor is right, and the antibiotics he was given will help. We’ll see.
