Lobsang, how have I been mean towards fauxpas? I’ve tried to give him advice, here and in the GQ threads of his I have read, and I have been more than fair with him even as he takes a piece of my board and turns it into Romper Room. Just to give you an idea of what my general opinion of him is, I don’t think the mods would be far wrong in banning him as a pre-emptive measure. He’s just on the edge of being able to post here constructively, and he has displayed a temper far too quick for the general tone of General Questions (among other fora). I think it’s time for him to shape up or ship out before he shits in his own lunchbox and the mods ship him out. I’m trying to help him shape up.
I’m glad someone has stepped up and filled the void left by BZ000000.

Derleth the best thing in the world a doper can do is be nice when they teach another doper about the rules/temprement etc. You claim to have been nice. So I have nothing against you.
In the past I have been changed and brought into-line by the dopers that have been nice to me. The ones that have sworn at me and belittled me have done absolutely nothing to change me (except make me ever-so-slightly more likely to step out of line).
How nice of you to be condescending towards me immediately after decrying condescension in others.

I saw the locked thread where you wanted people’s opinions about you, not very subtle. Listen, you have recently said you are changing for the better. Let that ride for a little while. SHOW you’re changing, don’t only SAY you are changing. This crowd can take some time before they see a change, some folks may read a post of yours from three or four days ago when they turn on the computer tomorrow morning, and form an opinion based on that. It is YOU from four days ago, but to THEM it is realtime. Chill. Keep doing better, but don’t expect immediate recognition, it’ll take some time not only for the reasons I mentioned, but some will wait to see if the maturity lasts. Don’t take it personally, it is the dynamics of a board like this. I guarantee a vast majority of the long-time and well respected posters do not like seeing their early work here.
