I know you’re probably one of the smart kids back home, used to being the one who can look down on everyone else. So are the rest of us. I’d wager that 70-80% of all Dopers have above-average intelligence, and in GQ certain people really have a chance to shine. Accept that you have a long way to go yet, and know that the path of knowledge does not include blind jealously or rage.[/li][li]Lurk a While: This could well be the most important piece of advice I have. By lurking, you will gain English skills by reading the usually quite literate posts around here. You will also get a feel for what constitutes normal social interaction in this environment. Look at this as an anthropology experiment: Observe the native Dopers, learn their folkways and traditions, get a good feel for their culture and history, and then enter the culture full-time. I’ve got to agree with the spirit of this thread. I don’t think fau is an asshole or anything, but he needs to eat a few books or something. At least one Dictionary and a set of World Book encyclopedias. Even at 13 I knew what words I could safely use and which ones I couldn’t.
And FTR, this kid has got to have the SDMB record for the most massive amount of posting in the shortest amount of time from a poster who was not intentionally trolling or spamming.
fauxpas is 13? He said he was 14 in another thread. But then again he also said he had written 5 games, and was then asking for advice on where to learn computer programming, in another thread.
I’m only two years older than fauxpas. It seems like he’s acting like a nine year old sometimes. He reminds me of my nine year old cousin with ADHD. And I thought I was posting too much at 3.5 ppd; he’s posting over 50 ppd. Not only does he not contribute to many discussions he posts in, but he provides false information. Kinda gets on your nerves. :smack: :smack: ;j
AMEN! I was about to post something VERY similar to this. I REALLY can’t stand this kid. Hacking Furby, getting a high risk bank loan? Ugh. Can you say ADHD?
Jesus fucking H Christ! This kid pisses me off! He has NO clue what hes talking about… I can’t help but vent here. The only young ones (that I know of) that make the slightest sense here are:
Myself (and I’m not too sure about that)
Tripler (at least I think he’s a teen)
Speaker For The Dead (not too sure about him being a teen aswell)

Now I feel a little arrogant but I still hate fauxpas.
