Favorite actor self parodies

“Robots are everywhere and they eat old people’s medicine for fuel.”

EDIT: Oops, didn’t read to the end of the thread…

I missed that episode!

Definitely worthy of mention, thank you.

Going back a little farther to a movie I otherwise hated:
Burt Reynolds in Silent Movie

Orlando Bloom also did a wickedly good self-parody in Extras

Another voice-only one: on the Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog DVD there is a commentary audio track that is itself a musical (Commentary! The Musical). In it, pretty much the entire cast and crew send themselves up, from Nathan Fillion’s pompous self-aggrandizement in “Better Than Neil” to Felicia Day’s flighty shoe-obsessed “It’s All About the Art” to Maurissa Tancharoen’s ultimately self-defeating narrative about Hollywood racism “Nobody’s Asian in the Movies” to NPH going off the rails in “Neil’s Turn” to the entire cast of bitplayers scrabbling for their tiny piece of glory in “All About Me”, and finishing with “Steve’s Song” where poor Steve sings about how glad he is that his friends value him and would never make fun of his lisp, in a song jam-packed full of gratuitous S’s (including making him sing “Su-Su-Sussudio”, ferchrissake). Highly recommended (and probably on YouTube).

On Entourage, actors spoofing themselves was pretty much a weekly routine; sometimes wildly exaggerated, sometimes mildly as if an inside joke.

Gary Busey, Anna Faris, David Faustino, Mandy Moore, James Cameron… etc.

Did anyone mention James Van Der Beek yet?

I love when musicians spoof themselves…

Alice Cooper in Wayne’s World.

Billy Idol in Wedding Singer

Does Wil Wheaton count in TBBT?

He did in post 21.

Be sure to catch the next bit where they go visit Ricky and Stephen.

Here you go

That was awesome. “Willy Wonka? Johnny Wanker!”

And Gus Van Sant who was seen off camera counting money instead of paying attention to what was being filmed in his own movie.

Would Charlton Heston’s appearance in Wayne’s World 2 count?
Arnold Schwarzenegger in Last Action Hero.

Look at Seinfeld’s new web series. I think that’s the true to life representation of their personality. Basically Jerry being amused and laughing at Larry’s weird outlook on life.

Much more than that but most die fairly quickly.

“Family guy” yup I saw that Episode( Not All Dogs Go To Heaven.) and Futurama is one my favourites too!!

Merv Griffin in The Man With Two Brains

Kurt Vonnegut in Back to School. (Vonnegut didn’t actually do much, but he set up the best joke in the movie.)

Would you count Roger Moore, playing a lunatic who thinks he’s Roger Moore, in The Cannonball Run?
