Favorite Alfred Hitchcock film

I’m with you but as it wasn’t there I voted for the 39 steps.

Waddeya mean, no motivation??? Every married guy in the world understands his motivation!

North By Northwest. I can watch this anytime and it’s not only my favorite Hitchcock film but one of my all time faves period. I can’t imagine not having seen it but do think it would play well even today on a first viewing. Good flick.

My favorite in terms of able to watch over and over, is NORTH BY NORTHWEST. My favorite in terms of greatest Art is PSYCHO, or perhaps VERTIGO.

I really like this movie too.

One of my alltime favorite jeopardy clues:

Category: Hitchcock

The trouble with Harry in The Trouble with Harry.

What is Harry is Dead?

My top three are Rear Window (I love the neighborhood mini-dramas, plus Grace Kelly is hot), followed by North By Northwest (even though Eva-Marie Saint is not hot) and Psycho. Strangers On A Train is not far behind.

Criss-cross.

Most overrated Hitchcock films in my opinion - Vertigo (sluggish) and The 39 Steps (the Buchan novel is much better). And I’m surprised to see Rope getting so many votes - not a bad movie, but aside from the gimmickry there’s not all that much there.

That’s my “other” choice.

Notorious is one of my all time favorite movies, so that was an easy vote. I’ve said on here before (completely hetero female speaking here  ) that the problem with Notorious is which actor is the most attractive- Cary Grant, Claude Rains (in an evil little man way) or Ingrid Bergman.

I also like (not nearly on the same level) Marnie, Sean Connery is great in it and it’s got some laugh out loud camp (probably not intentionally) and I like the sneaky cousin trying to get into Sean Connery’s pants.

Psycho FTW

I completely agree, except I don’t get TCM.

Criterion needs to do a restoration/remastering (with all the extras!) job on Sabotage, yes-indeedy! Way overdue, guys…
