Favorite animated Disney Villain

I agree with this completely. I’m not surprised though, seeing how the opening lines were “but the was selfish” when she didn’t want to give up her flower for the queen. Damn monarchists.

Anywho, my favorite has always been Minister Frollo. Man, that guy had some demons in him. And he genuinely thought he was doing the right thing.

It really is underrated, itsn’t it? Ysma. Kronk. Kuzco. Those absolutely evil children and wife of Pascha’s.

Bill Sikes from Oliver and Company.

No magic powers, just a man in a suit, but he was threatening.

Most fun villainess: Cruella.

I dunno, I have to give it to Maleficent.

A sorceress, consort of the devil, with all the powers of hell? Can transform into a fire-breathing dragon? And yet a queen in her own right, and willing to play the long game to win. And with a sense of cruelty that is so wicked and yet so delightful. She encompasses all of evil from the trite to the horrific, and loves it. She would give the other Disney villains nightmares, even the ones with magical powers of their own. She commands respect by her very presence.

Many of the other villains are understandable, but really only represent one facet of evil. Gaston is prideful. Frollo is lustful. Governor Ratcliffe is Greedy. But Maleficent embodies evil, and all of it.

Gotta give props to Maleficent.
Bitch turned herself into a dragon.

Not an antisocial lion, or a stepmother with self esteem issues, or a rotten old bat with bad fashion sense…

A Fucking Dragon

That’s some pure bad ass shit.

Nailed it. Was just coming to say the same thing. I think my childhood love of dragons may have stemmed from Maleficent. Most of my drawings sure looked like her.

Scariness has to be Maleficent. She’s utterly terrifying.

Fun? I’d say Prince John and Sir Hiss from “Robin Hood.”

Gaston’s pretty awesome. Always like Jafar. Frollo is the most realistic (one reason Hunchback is my favorite Disney movie). Hades had a very slick voice and character design (loved the burning hair). Too hard to pick just one!

Huge fan of Gaston because I love the songs he sings.

Scar has a special place in my heart as being the most power hungry and also had a great song.

But the winner has to be Frollo for all the reasons already stated by others.

The rat from Lady and the Tramp. It looked just the way I thought a rat should look, about 2 feet long with an evil grin, and it was going to bite the baby just because it could.

Lady Tremaine, Cinderella’s wicked stepmother. I remember hearing somewhere that a few of Disney’s animators were introduced to a group of people, and they all got polite applause, but when the animator who’d done the stepmother was introduced, everybody snarled at him.

Evil Queen Stepmother Witch from Snow White. She’s scared five generations of kids now, and is the gold standard all other Disney villains are measured against.

Maleficent. She is stunningly animated and voiced. her slippery voice just sends chills up the spine. And who can beat an evil fairy who can turn herself into a dragon? No one. That’s who.

Maleficent. She cursed a baby because she wasn’t invited to a party. She turns into a dragon. She’s amazing. My daughter and I are running the Tower of Terror Ten-Miler and the villains come out to the course - but we have to wait two years. She’s the one we are most excited about. Totally old school villain.

Points to Ursula because I sing her “Poor, Unfortunate Souls” very well.

Shan Yu gets bonus points for being totally human and still being really scary-drawn.

Maleficent also gets to say “Fools” like a proper villain. Plus those other faires, they cheat. They are cheaters. They give Philip the shield and sword and tell him, we can’t help you any more than this. Then what do they do? THEY FREAKING HELP HIM! They even make the sword fly swift and sure so evil dies and good endures. Philip does JACK SHIT in that fight. He is the least deserving Disney Prince besides Prince Charming who basically one dabbles in necrophilia. (probably disappointed she started moving)

Frollo and Ratigan are two underrated villains from underrated films. The Great Mouse Detective is a lot of fun, plus it has a stripper! Hunchback just isn’t a kids film and if you cut out the silly parts (the gargoyles) it’s a really good movie.

Ursala has a great song, one of my favorites from Disney period. Oh and those elephant bitches in Dumbo plus the clowns are pretty fucking awful.

[QUOTE=Ranchoth]

He’s a tyrant who can’t make the trains run on time. All he knows how or cares to do is hold onto his position of power to the very end, even at the cost of his subjects, supporters, and his own life.

Somehow Scar also caused a drought. Is that because his rule was cursed by “God(s)” and he did not have the “mandate of heaven”? As soon as Simba steps in, it starts to rain.

I like all the Disney villains for being unique in their own demented ways. All of them have a trait that sets them apart from the others. All of them have a thoroughly slick, confident feel about them that makes them both slimy and compelling at the same time.

My personal one is Claude Frollo, though, for being most evil. Prepared to kill mothers, babies, and commit genocide in the name of god, and he almost got away with all of it. And without any magic! After I grew up a little I realized the rapey, obsessive overtones to his character as well. It’s my opinion that his song Hellfire is probably the best one Disney’s ever come up with, songwise and visually. I was disappointed by the silly gargoyles in comparison, which really dragged the whole film down. The film had a lot going for it otherwise - they even broke the rule of the hero getting the girl!

I will absolutely admit that Maleficent would give Frollo nightmares though - she is exactly the sort of stuff his nightmares are made of. I just like him better as a character regardless

The Chitauri.

I don’t know which villain’s self aggrandizing name-based song I like better: Ratigan or Gaston.

Yep! Pretty much everyone has some level of evil, except for Pascha. Emperor’s New Groove is my favorite of the modern classics.

Bummer that we don’t get to hear all of Ratigan’s! The record skips!

(Has Disney ever released an “uncut” version? Maybe without the “Victrola” filtering, too? Please?)
