I don’t think any of the Anime characters have any personality. It’s those goofy big eyes that never show expression. Sort of like the cheap brand of greeting cards that never have a first class look.
If it ever turns into a spaceship, could I have a ride? 
It’s a toss-up between Gunsmith Cats, Tenchi Muyo, or El Hazard for me.
Macross Plus is pretty bad-ass too.
I remember Nausicaa fondly, as Warriors of the Wind was one of the first real anime features I recall seeing. I cannot find it for sale now, which is aggravating.
Of course Ranma½ rules…at least the first 2 1/2 seasons and the OAVs do. The quality started going downhill quickly after that.
I guess what my rambling is really saying is that I can’t make up my freakin’ mind.
