Mine would be:
Main character: Murad - Neutral Evil elf warrior (drow look), 2 to sword and bow profs. A little powergamerey, but an evil party needs the extra punch.
Xzar - funniest evil character. Edwin might be a bit better, but he’s not as cool and Lawful besides.
Montaron - comes with Xzar, and the only evil thief type. Good ranged support with a sling.
Viconia - what evil party can be complete without her? She makes a nice match for Murad.
Shar-Teel - A man-hating killing machine, and CE to boot. What more could one ask for in a fighter?
Kagain - he’s LE, but there are no more NE or CE NPCs until Eldoth (paired with a neutral) and Tiax (someone to compete against Murad for world domination? not bloody likely). I don’t like him much, but from a roleplaying standpoint the group works well with a beefy mercenary.
I love the Baldur’s Gate games. I do tend to favor the good guys however. My party the first time out included:
Me: Bard
Minsc: For me it just wouldn’t be BG without the big guy and Boo!
Khalid and Jahira. Despite Jahira’s constant naging due to my good reputation they make a usefull pair.
Imoen: Ya gots to have a thief, and she also provides good fire support with a bow.
Dynaheir: Comes with Minsc, and also provides great spell baised fire support.
What's more, when I moved on to BG2 I foud that this party fit in with the plot rather well. All of the above are either encountered, or their fates revealed in the first chapter.Any party without Minsc and Boo (“Go for the eyes, Boo!”) is a lesser party.
